Make a difference in your workplace

Taking time to be more conscious of our environment is more prominent than ever nowadays. As you know, Aston & James are committed to sustainability. We offer an award-winning ink and toner collection service, and paper collections for recycling. One new way we are reducing waste is through our furniture recycling service. Whether you are replacing old with new or have an *excess of current furniture, this service can help your workplace.

Why?

You can now donate your unwanted office furniture & supplies locally to charities, so less waste goes to landfills and more goes to good causes. There is a Thames Valley organisation that matches businesses with local charities to enable you to donate your unwanted office items. A non-eco-friendly statistic is that over 1.2 million desks go to landfills every year and a similar amount of chairs too, while charities often go short.

The organisation we are supporting is A Good Thing, a not-for-profit, Community Interest Company (CIC). A company designed for social enterprises that want to use their profits and assets for the good of the public.

Here's how it works...

  •  Business creates an offer
  •  Offer sent to local charities
  •  Charities submit requests
  •  Business selects a charity
  •  Details exchanged
  •  Charity picks up items (in most cases)

When

When you replace or buy your new office furniture and selected supplies from us we will communicate through 'A Good Thing' for your used office furniture and surplus office products to be collected and repurposed by a local charity. Contact us if you're looking at upgrading to the latest workplace furniture, or if your chairs just need replacing?

If your workspace is ready for a refresh then contact one of our in-house experts about improving or creating your ideal environment, or come along and see us at our furniture showroom in Witney.

*T&C's apply. When you are replacing old items by purchasing new ones from Aston & James we will communicate through 'A Good Thing' for your used office furniture and surplus office products to be collected and repurposed by a local charity. *If you just have an excess of current workplace furniture we can introduce you to 'A Good Thing' in association with a good cause for your goods to be donated. For confirmation of items that can be donated see full t&c's @ How it works | A Good Thing

What is National Tea Day in the UK?

In workplaces across the UK, the tea round is a ritual. It's the unspoken love language of the workplace: the quick chat in the kitchen, the "milk & sugar?" question, and the well-earned five-minute pause in a busy day. What's your favourite flavour?
