At Aston & James, we are committed to making a positive impact—not just in the workplace but also on the planet. That’s why we’re thrilled to announce that we have been awarded Gold in four key areas of the Weaver Social Sustainability Programme:

Carbon Footprint
Waste Management
Single-Use Packaging
Social Responsibility

What is the Weaver Sustainability Programme?

The Weaver Sustainability Programme is a comprehensive social sustainability initiative developed by Office Friendly, a not-for-profit cooperative that supports workplace providers to thrive. The Weaver initiative works in collaboration with DEKRA, an independent sustainability consultancy. Designed to help businesses assess and integrate responsible practices, to improve their environmental and social impact, focussing on five key areas:

Carbon Footprint
Waste Management
Single-Use Packaging
Sustainable Products
Social Responsibility

In today’s business landscape, transparency, accountability, and action on sustainability are more important than ever. Weaver supports businesses in implementing meaningful changes, providing clear reporting, and achieving certification to showcase their commitment.

This achievement is about building a continuous pathway to sustainability and reflects our ongoing efforts to reduce our environmental footprint, implement responsible waste management practices, and support ethical business operations. Sustainability is at the heart of our mission, and we continue to take meaningful steps toward a greener future.

What’s Next?

While we’re proud of this milestone, our journey doesn’t stop here. We are currently at the Silver level in the Sustainable Products category, and we are actively working to enhance our offerings to meet Gold standards. By sourcing more eco-friendly products and promoting sustainable choices, we aim to continue to support our customers to make responsible purchasing decisions.

Why It Matters

By participating in this programme, we hold ourselves accountable and continuously strive to be better for our customers, our community, and the planet. Our strategies include:

Join Us on the Journey
Sustainability is a collective effort, and we invite our customers and partners to join us in making responsible choices. Whether it’s through reducing waste, choosing sustainable products, or supporting ethical practices, small changes can make a big difference.

Stay tuned for more updates as we work towards achieving Gold across all categories!
